Job Description
- Work includes among other things, conceptual studies, cost and planning studies, layouts, design calculations, specification development, and, construction-supporting documents.
- Maintains and promotes focus on Lummus Heat Transfer s end product whether engineering, fabrication or construction support.
- Ensures effective management of change.
- Assumes responsibility for cost, schedule, quantity and budget control.
- Monitors and report the progress and status of structural design.
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Willing and able to travel (domestic and international) for business trips, meetings, training and site visits.
- The candidate will also be a focal point of communication with overseas offices in multi-office project execution for the jobs with direct involvement.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Structural engineering graduate with 8-12 years of experience in design of steel structures for fired heaters, reformers, cracking furnaces, tall steel stacks, APH systems, etc.
- Knowledge of fired heaters configurations and arrangements.
- Knowledge of international and domestic design codes for structural design and loading, such as ACI, AISC and ASCE, European codes, IS codes.
- Proficiency with structural analysis and design software such as Staad-Pro.
- Familiarity with new scientific engineering methods and technical knowledge of the detail design engineering process.
- Capability to appropriately use computer applications such as MS Excel, Power Point, Word and other specialized engineering tools.
- Strong communication skills and people skills are a must.
- Knowledge and experience with Finite Elements Analysis (FEA) is a plus.
