Job Description
- The Sr Analyst works with product team in delivering impactful data driven analytics support to the Pricing, Promotion & Competitive Intelligence (PPCI) organization.
- The Sr Analyst should have a deep understanding of analytical techniques and should be able to perform quantitative analysis. He/She will be responsible for ensuring data authenticity, solutioning and communicating results to drive product development goals with the business.
- The Sr Analyst will follow analytical best practices to explore, gather and wrangle data & perform statistical/quantitative analysis using disparate data sources to deliver accurate reporting and data-driven insights, trends, and anomalies that directly support key business decisions.
- With the goal to be best-in-class position in the PPCI space, the Sr Analyst will work closely with Lead Analyst & Product Manager and collaborate with Engineers and Data Scientists to ensure product goals are delivered.
- To be successful, the individual in this role must have technical expertise in programs such as SQL and/or Python to query data, summarize results and visualize findings to provide actionable insights to stakeholders
Core Responsibilities:
- Excellent technical and analytical acumen. Ability to function independently and identify the most appropriate tool and/or methods to deliver relevant and timely results
- Deep understanding of the data domain with expectation to become SME with respect to the slice of the data domain they support
- Expertise in advanced analytics & basic statistics to provide actionable insights & recommendations. Ability to handle small projects with minimal to moderate oversight by working on complex analysis that influence strategies
- Establish accurate data and metrics to be consumed for reporting and analytics purposes
- Seek automation opportunities for recurring manual processes
- Collaborate with peers on the product/platform teams - data engineers, software engineers, data scientists, PMs to develop analytical solutions with best practice in mind to build data intelligent products
- Embrace a continuous learning mindset, improving his/her knowledge of business solutions, tools, frameworks and supporting infrastructure. Open to learn from peer partners to broaden skillsets
Years of Experience:
- 4+ years of experience
- 2+ years experience in analytical role along with proficiency in SQL & Python
Education Qualification & Certifications (optional) Required Minimum
Qualifications :
- Bachelor s Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Data or Information Sciences, or related field (or equivalent work experience in a related field) AND 3 years of related experience
- OR Masters Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Data or Information Sciences, or related field AND 1 year of related experience
Primary Skills (must have)
- 2+Experience working with Enterprise level databases (eg, Hadoop, Teradata, Aster, GCP, Azure, Oracle, DB2)
- Proficient in SQL development & wrangling data using complex queries and data extraction processes
- 2+ years of experience working with visualization platforms like PowerBI, Looker, Microstrategy, Tableau or Superset
- Experience working on Python or Pyspark
- Ability to design and develop processes to gather, explore, structure, enrich, and clean large datasets from various internal and external sources
- Ability to perform data validation, outlier detection and root cause analysis
- Ability to translate complex business problems, goals and objectives into actionable requirements
- Excellent communications skills to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
- Having a continuous focus around math, science, technology/tools and business domain, taking efforts in increasing knowledge through self-learning and exploration
Secondary Skills (desired)
- Is familiar with Agile ways of working
- Is conversant with work efficiency tools like Jira & BitBucket
- Develop, maintain and improve descriptive and predictive analytics models and tools in support of Lowe s Pricing & Promotions retail strategy
- Prior experience in Pricing or Promotions is preferable but not mandatory
- Relevant experience in retail analytics preferred
