Job Description

Sales Strategy and Execution:

    • Maintain a detailed database of top institutions and organizations that procure sports goods in bulk.
    • Monitor competitor activities, including new product launches, promotional strategies, and pricing structures.
    • Provide actionable insights to the product development and marketing teams based on market trends.

Relationship Management:

    • Build and maintain long-term relationships with distributors and institutional clients to ensure sustained business growth.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring excellent customer service and quick resolution of issues.
    • Develop partnerships with sports organizations, events and training academies to enhance brand visibility.
    • Conduct regular meetings and business reviews with distributors and clients to align on goals and performance.

Product Knowledge and Promotion:

    • Stay updated on product features, benefits, and competitive advantages to effectively position them in the market.
    • Work closely with the marketing team to design promotional campaigns, trade fairs, and other customer engagement activities.
    • Organize product training sessions for distributors and institutional clients to enhance product awareness.

Sales Operations and Reporting:

    • Prepare detailed sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports for review by senior management.
    • Track key sales metrics, including revenue, growth and customer acquisition, to ensure alignment with objectives.
    • Manage the sales pipeline using CRM tools to monitor progress and identify areas for improvement.
    • Ensure timely collections and manage credit terms with distributors and clients.

Team Collaboration and Leadership:

    • Coordinate with internal teams, including marketing, supply chain, and logistics, to ensure product availability and delivery timelines.
    • Mentor and support junior sales team members to enhance their skills and performance.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and customer-centricity within the sales team.

Travel and Representation:

    • Travel extensively to meet with distributors, institutional clients, and other stakeholders.
    • Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and conferences to build brand awareness and generate leads.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience: 8-10 years of experience in selling sports goods through distribution and institutional sales channels.

  • Industry Knowledge:
    • Familiarity with key players in the sports goods market, such as Sunrise Sport (India) Pvt Ltd., Cosco (India) Limited, Nivea Sports (Freewill Sports Pvt Ltd), Bhalla International (Vinex), Sareen Sports Industries Pvt Ltd, and Sanspareils Greenlands Pvt. Ltd.
    • Strong understanding of sports goods categories and customer preferences.
    • Education: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA is preferred.
    • Skills:
    • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong networking abilities within the sports goods industry.
    • Proficiency in CRM and sales management software.
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills for data-driven decision-making.
