Job Description
About the Role : This is a key leadership role that will significantly influence our organizations technology strategy and vision. The Associate Vice President of Engineering will be instrumental in driving innovation, ensuring technical excellence, and leading a top-tier development team. The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for technology and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, business-aligned products.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of innovative, scalable technology solutions by deeply understanding business requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create comprehensive proposals, solution architectures, and detailed project plans.
- Provide strategic technical leadership and oversight throughout the solution development lifecycle, ensuring best practices and optimal results.
- Apply a strong understanding of Agile SDLC methodologies to streamline project execution and delivery.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, frameworks, and industry trends, integrating them into solutions as appropriate.
- Use your technical expertise to build prototypes, proofs-of-concept (POCs), and demonstrate solutions effectively.
- Lead or participate in technical development tasks, ensuring that deliverables meet the highest standards of quality.
- Utilize your cloud expertise (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) to architect and implement robust, cloud-based solutions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cloud best practices, security standards, and cost optimization techniques.
- Work closely with the cloud engineering team to ensure solutions align with established cloud architecture and design principles.
- Engage stakeholders to understand their business goals, challenges, and technology needs, providing technical recommendations aligned with their strategic objectives.
- Offer technical insights and recommendations that align technology solutions with business strategies.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to a team of technology professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
- Promote a positive, inclusive work environment that encourages innovation, knowledge sharing, and professional development.
- Support team members growth through coaching, feedback, and performance reviews.
- Oversee and lead annual IT audits, ensuring compliance with standards and internal governance requirements.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Bachelors or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of proven experience in technical solution development, hands-on technical roles, and training. Minimum with 3+ years in leadership roles
- In-depth knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), cloud computing, and modern programming languages such as TypeScript, ExpressJS, Node.js, MySQL, and Angular.
- Experience with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to lead large, cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for various audiences.
- Fintech experience will be required.
