Job Description

As a Shift Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant during your assigned shift. You will be responsible for leading and motivating a team of staff members to deliver exceptional customer service, maintain operational standards, and ensure profitability. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, be a proactive problem-solver, and demonstrate a passion for delivering top-tier guest experiences in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership:
    • Manage and oversee daily operations, ensuring all shifts run efficiently and smoothly.
    • Ensure food quality, cleanliness, and safety standards are consistently maintained in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Monitor inventory levels, report discrepancies, and coordinate stock replenishment to avoid shortages.
    • Oversee food preparation, cooking, and service to ensure timely delivery of high-quality food and beverages.
  • Team Management:
    • Supervise, train, and mentor the team, ensuring they are fully equipped to perform their duties effectively.
    • Maintain a positive work environment, fostering teamwork and high morale among employees.
    • Handle staffing needs, including delegating tasks and ensuring proper coverage during busy periods.
    • Provide ongoing feedback, conduct performance evaluations, and implement improvement strategies as needed.
  • Customer Experience:
    • Ensure customers receive outstanding service by addressing complaints, inquiries, and special requests in a professional manner.
    • Take proactive steps to enhance the guest experience, ensuring each customer leaves satisfied.
    • Monitor service levels, implement improvements, and resolve operational challenges that affect customer satisfaction.
  • Compliance & Safety:
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and sanitation requirements.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and ensure team members are trained on emergency procedures and safety protocols.
    • Monitor and enforce adherence to company policies, including attendance, dress code, and employee conduct.
  • Financial Performance:
    • Assist in managing costs, including labor and food cost control, within the parameters set by the Store Manager.
    • Prepare daily and weekly reports on operations, sales, and staff performance.
    • Assist in budgeting and contribute to achieving sales targets.
  • Communication & Reporting:
    • Act as a liaison between the front-line team and upper management, ensuring smooth communication of operational updates and challenges.
    • Report any operational issues, customer feedback, or suggestions to the Store Manager for further action.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within the F&B or QSR industry.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Understanding of food safety and health regulations.
  • Proficient in basic computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office, point-of-sale systems).
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education or hospitality management certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a QSR or similar F&B setting.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work long shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Fast-paced environment with a focus on delivering high-quality service under pressure.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and move around the restaurant for extended periods.
