SQL Database Administrator (5-9 yrs)

Summary :

This role involves managing and supporting SQL Server databases while assisting Senior DBAs with routine tasks.

Key responsibilities include database maintenance, performance monitoring, backup management, patch execution, query optimization, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities :

- Support and maintain SQL Server databases, ensuring active backups and system performance.

- Apply system patches, manage application patch execution, and implement rollback strategies.

- Monitor and optimize slow queries using profiling tools and performance tuning techniques.

- Plan for future scalability based on historical data and system growth.

- Troubleshoot database issues, corruption, and security events.

- Automate maintenance tasks using scripting languages like PowerShell or VBScript.

- Support HA/DR solutions (Always On, Log Shipping, Mirroring) for SQL Server 2012/2014.

- Implement best practices for database security, performance, and monitoring.

Skills & Experience :

- 5+ years in SQL Server DBA and development.

- Strong knowledge of T-SQL, indexing, system catalogs, and query optimization.

- Experience with SQL Server tools like Extended Events, Profiler, and Database Tuning Advisor.

- Proficiency in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and job scheduling.

- Microsoft certification is a plus.
