SAP Business One - Assistant Manager

Role & Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic SAP Business One Assistant Manager with expertise in Material Management (MM) and Sales and Distribution (SD) modules to oversee and optimize our ERP processes within both our Plants located at Hyderabad. The ideal candidate will lead the daily monitoring and continuous improvement of SAP B1 MM & SD modules, aligning these processes with business objectives to enhance productivity and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Material Management (MM) Module Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize inventory management workflows, including stock transfers, cycle counting, warehouse management, and material valuation.
• Oversee procurement processes such as purchase requisitions, purchase orders, vendor management, and invoice verification.
• Configure and maintain Material Requirements Planning (MRP), ensuring accuracy in demand planning, forecasting, and inventory levels.
• Lead the creation and management of item master data, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and multi-warehouse setups.
• Monitor and analyze material flow to reduce waste, optimize stock levels, and improve inventory turnover.

Sales and Distribution (SD) Module Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end sales processes, including quotation, order management, delivery scheduling, invoicing, and credit control.
• Configure and maintain pricing, discounts, and special sales agreements for customers.
• Oversee the returns and credit management processes to ensure smooth customer service.
• Streamline and optimize the order-to-cash process, ensuring seamless integration with inventory and finance modules.
• Manage logistics, delivery schedules, and shipping processes to ensure timely customer order fulfillment.

Cross-Functional and Leadership Responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between business users and IT teams, gathering requirements and translating them into functional specifications.
• Lead SAP B1 MM and SD module implementation projects, upgrades, and customizations.
• Collaborate with Finance, Production, and Warehouse teams to ensure the alignment of processes across the organization.
• Provide training and mentoring to end-users and team members on best practices and system usage.
• Generate customized reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights to business leaders.

Preferred candidate profile

• Inventory Management: Strong understanding of inventory control processes, including stock transfers, cycle counts, and warehouse management.
• Procurement Processes: Knowledge of procurement workflows such as purchase requisitions, purchase orders, goods receipt, and invoice verification.
• Material Requirements Planning (MRP): Proficiency in configuring and managing MRP settings, including demand planning, reorder points, and forecasting.
• Item Master Data: Expertise in creating and maintaining item master records, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and units of measure.
• Warehouse and Bin Management: Experience in setting up warehouse structures, bins, and managing multi-warehouse inventory.
• SAP B1 Configuration: Ability to configure the SD module, including setting up sales orders, delivery documents, and customer credit controls.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Proficiency in creating sales performance reports and analyzing trends using SQL and Crystal Reports.
• EDI Integration: Experience with integrating Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) for automated order processing and delivery updates.
• SAP B1 Configuration: Ability to configure the MM module, including setting up item groups, vendor data, and procurement workflows.
• SQL and Reporting: Knowledge of SQL for querying inventory data and generating reports using tools like Crystal Reports.
• Integration: Familiarity with integrating MM functionalities with other SAP B1 modules such as Production, Sales, and Finance.
• SAP B1 Configuration: Ability to configure the SD module, including setting up sales orders, delivery documents, and customer credit controls.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Proficiency in creating sales performance reports and analyzing trends using SQL and Crystal Reports.
• EDI Integration: Experience with integrating Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) for automated order processing and delivery updates

Functional Expertise

• Thorough understanding of Electronics Manufacturing industry-specific workflows, including procurement of raw materials, component tracking, and sales of finished goods.
• Familiarity with supply chain optimization and customer order management within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of taxation and compliance requirements specific to the electronics industry.

Additional Skills

• Data Analysis: Ability to analyze stock levels, consumption patterns, and inventory valuation to optimize inventory management.
• Process Optimization: Identify inefficiencies in the supply chain and implement solutions for streamlining procurement and inventory processes.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of compliance requirements such as inventory valuation methods (FIFO, LIFO, Moving Average).
• Audit Preparation: Ensure accurate documentation and traceability of inventory movements for internal and external audits.
• Sector-Specific Expertise: Understanding of sales and distribution processes within the Electronics Manufacturing industry.
• Logistics Management: Knowledge of shipping, transportation, and warehouse distribution processes.
• Project Management: Manage module-specific implementations, upgrades, and enhancements.
• Training and Mentoring: Train end-users and junior staff on SAP B1 functionalities and best practices.
• Stakeholder Management: Work with senior management to align MM and SD operations with organizational goals.
