Procurement Engineer

Job Summary:

The Procurement Engineer will be responsible for managing the procurement process for materials, services, and equipment for real estate and construction projects. Working remotely as part of the back-office team supporting US-based projects, the Procurement Engineer will ensure that all project requirements are met within budget, on time, and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves working closely with project managers, suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders to source and procure the necessary goods and services for construction activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Procurement Planning and Strategy:
• Develop and implement procurement strategies for construction materials, equipment, and services, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budgets.
• Supplier and Vendor Management:
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
• Tendering and Bidding Process:
• Manage the tendering and bidding process for various materials, services, and subcontractor packages.
• Cost Control and Budget Management:
• Monitor procurement costs and track spending against project budgets, ensuring that all procurement activities are within financial constraints.
• Quality Control and Compliance:
• Ensure that all procured materials and services meet the required specifications and quality standards.
• Documentation and Record-Keeping:
• Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including contracts, purchase orders, invoices, and delivery schedules.
• Risk Management and Issue Resolution:
• Proactively identify and address any procurement-related risks, such as supply delays, quality issues, or vendor non-compliance.
• Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams:
• Collaborate with the project management, finance, legal, and engineering teams to ensure alignment between procurement and project needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Educational Requirements:
• Bachelors degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical), Construction Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Certifications in procurement (e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management - CPSM) are a plus.
• Experience:
• 4+ years of experience in procurement, with a focus on construction or real estate development projects.
• Proven experience in managing procurement for large-scale construction or real estate projects, including materials, services, and equipment.
• Previous experience working remotely or supporting US-based teams in a back-office capacity is preferred.
