Landmark Group - Category Planning Manager - eCommerce Platform (5-8 yrs)

The Category Planner will play a key role in driving the financial and operational success of the apparel categories in an online retail environment. This position requires a strong understanding of e-commerce, fashion trends, and data analysis to optimize inventory, sales performance, and customer experience. The Category Planner will collaborate closely with buying, merchandising, and marketing teams to forecast demand, manage product performance, and ensure that the assortment meets business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Analyse historical sales data and trends to develop accurate sales and inventory forecasts.

2. Monitor sales performance and adjust forecasts as necessary to optimize stock levels and minimize markdowns.

3. Collaborate with Category and merchandising teams to align stock levels with promotional activities and sales goals.

4. Regularly review product performance and recommend adjustments to the assortment as needed.

5. Ensure the assortment mix is balanced between core, seasonal, and fashion-forward products.

6. Conduct in-depth analysis of category performance, including sales, margins, inventory turnover, and profitability.

7. Provide actionable insights to improve product performance and support decision-making for promotions, pricing, and markdown strategies.

8. Manage stock replenishment, monitor slow-moving inventory, and plan markdowns and clearance to optimize sell-through rates.

9. Minimize stock-outs and overstock situations by maintaining an optimal balance of inventory.

10. Prepare and present regular reports on category performance, including KPIs such as sales, margin, stock levels, and sell-through rates.
