Projects Business Lead for a Leading B2B ECommerce Platform (Part of a large Indian Conglomerate)
Purpose of the job:
Projects business Lead - Private brands business
- Strategic Planning and Execution : Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to drive growth and increase sales within the business. Set clear goals and align strategies with overall business objectives to achieve desired outcomes.
- Brand approval at project customers : Drive specification and brand approval at Nodal agencies and infrastructure players
- Market Insights and Expansion : Analyze market trends and customer needs to identify opportunities for business expansion and prioritization. Develop actionable insights to guide BU level rollouts and growth initiatives.
- Sales and Margin Management : Drive sales performance and manage gross margins for the steel category. Implement strategies to optimize pricing, promotions, and product assortment to achieve financial targets.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Collaborate with Plant operations, Marketing, Supply Chain, and other departments to ensure alignment and support for sales. Facilitate effective communication and teamwork across functions.
- Reporting and Analysis : Prepare and present reports on category performance, including sales, margins, and market trends. Provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.
- Brand Growth : Drive the growth of private brands, including product launches, promotional activities, and merchandising strategies. Ensure successful execution of category plans to achieve sales targets and maximize gross margins.
- Budget Management : Oversee and manage the category budget, including cost estimation, tracking, and financial reporting. Ensure adherence to budgetary constraints and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Inventory Management : Liaison with plant operations to ensure optimal inventory levels by forecasting demand at a customer or site level
- Performance Monitoring & Improvement : Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory turnover, sales performance, and operational efficiency. Identify areas for improvement and implement initiatives to enhance performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Who can apply :
- 14-18 years of experience in category management or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience specifically in the steel or TMT industry.
- In-depth knowledge of the steel industry, including market dynamics, customer needs, and supply chain management.
- Proven track record of developing and executing strategies for category growth, managing budgets, and driving sales performance.
- MBA from recognized educational institute with Engineering background (preferred)
Strong English and Excel skills required:
- Good interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate effectively across different levels in organization
- Strong planning & organizational skills, with ability to work under tight deadlines
- Highly analytical thought process in order to adapt to an evolving business
