CSSD Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Department Oversight: Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Central Sterile Supply Department, ensuring the efficient processing, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical supplies.
• Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise CSSD technicians and support staff, conducting performance evaluations and providing ongoing professional development to ensure high standards of work.
• Quality Assurance: Establish and implement quality control protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain compliance with health regulations and ensure the safety and efficacy of sterilization processes.
• Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels of sterile supplies and equipment, coordinating with purchasing and supply chain management to ensure adequate stock while minimizing waste and costs.
• Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and calibration of sterilization and cleaning equipment, ensuring that all machinery is in proper working order and compliant with safety standards.
• Policy Development: Develop and enforce policies and procedures related to sterilization practices, infection control, and safety measures, ensuring adherence to organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Collaboration: Work closely with surgical teams, nursing staff, and other departments to coordinate the timely delivery of sterile instruments and supplies, facilitating effective communication and workflow.
• Continuous Improvement: Evaluate departmental performance through data analysis and feedback, implementing process improvements and innovations to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the CSSD operations.
