UI Practice Lead/Head/Developer/Engineer

- As the Head of UI Engineering, you will oversee and guide a team of UI developers specializing in front-end technology such as HTML, JavaScript, CSS, frameworks like Angular and React, mobile technology like iOS and Android, cross-platform technology like Flutter and React Native.

- This role balances technical leadership, resource management, and strategic planning to drive team excellence and client satisfaction.

- You will contribute to long-term practice growth, innovation, and team development.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership and Building the Practice (20%)

Hands-On Technical Contribution - Prototypes and POCs (30%)

Customer and vendor engagement (30%)

Hiring and Mentoring (20%)

DevEx: Create reusable tools and architectures to enhance development efficiency.

Act as a change agent, advancing design and development methodologies.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (UX, design, QA, business) to deliver cohesive solutions.

Develop and implement strategies to scale the UI practice in alignment with organizational goals and industry trends.

Innovate and refine processes to improve design, development, and delivery efficiency.

Guide framework selection, emerging technology adoption, and front-end architecture decisions.

Oversee resource allocation, quality assurance, training, and future resource planning.

Build a scalable team of 25 developers. Mentor team members to enhance technical and leadership skills.

Build succession plans and career pathways for team development.

Provide technical expertise throughout project lifecycles, including concept development, solution design, and optimization.

Create production-optimized code using performance best practices (e.g., minification, tree-shaking, image compression).

Aware of accessibility guidelines like a11y

Advise clients on front-end strategy and architecture, ensuring alignment with business goals.

Act as a key interface for client architects and senior developers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Ensure high client satisfaction and retention through proactive technical and management solutions. Performance and Metrics

Assess performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and recommend actionable solutions.

Required Technical Experience:

This would be a great role for you if

- You're a passionate programmer with a creative eye

- You have Strong JavaScript and Typescript skills (including frameworks like React, Vue, SvelteJS)

- HTML, CSS (including preprocessors like Sass) and accessibility best practices.

- You've worked on Progressive Web Apps and atleast one project using cross-platform tech like Flutter or React Native.

- Strong Experience in server-side technology like NodeJS.

- You've worked on atleast one deployment pipeline products - Github flow, Gitlab etc.

- Familiar with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and source control systems (Git, SVN).

- Proficient in testing frameworks (Jest, Jasmine) and automation tools (ESLint, JSLint).

- Excellent communication skills.

- Your experience in GraphQL API would be a bonus.
