Mechanical Design Engineer

Mechanical Design Engineer (Location: Podalakur, Nellore, Andhra Pradesh)

You are expected to actively develop, update, and maintain existing product/sub-assembly/parts design. Also, you will be required to design new parts, sub-assembly, and products at our factory in Podalakur Mandal, Nellore District, Andhra Pradesh. You must work with multiple departments in the Company for design and to develop systems, procedures, plans, and activities to support organizational goals.

You will be a key part of the factorys engineering team. You must be self-driven, timely finish tasks with high accuracy, and take initiative for new tasks.

The following are some of the requirements and responsibilities. It changes from time to time. You must be flexible to take care of the needs of the Company.

Knowledge Requirement:

1. Must be fluent in English and be able to read, interpret, apply, the engineering drawings for various parts, sub-assemblies, components, machines etc.

a) Updating and maintaining documents (engineering drawings, BoM, part-lists, product improvements) in factory, including old and new models and modifications from time to time.

b) You will be responsible for record keeping at the factory to comply with various certifications.

c) You must know how to keep version control of drawings, and record of old and new versions, with changes documented for compliance and tracking.

d) Communicate with our teams across India, and our principals abroad.

2. You should have a working knowledge of various certification processes.

a) You will be responsible for supporting the team with engineering drawings and measurements as required.

3. Must have good exposure in

a) Manufacturing with press-shop, machining, drilling, welding, painting, assembly etc.

b) Development of products/parts/sub-assembly, made from aluminum and steel sheets various profiles, with welding, painting etc.

4. Must have good technical knowledge of:

a. Measuring instruments used in manufacturing, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing process for engineering drawing and production verifications.

b. Engines viz. Petrol and Diesel

c. Transmission systems and gear boxes

d. Using and maintaining various jigs, fixtures, tooling etc.

5. Must be able to work:

a) Across many departments e.g., management, sales, spare-parts, accounts, administration, branding, warehouse etc., to improve the performance of the factory and the Company in general.

b) With vendors domestic and foreign, to ensure that designs are done in a timely and cost-effective manner.

c) With internal and external teams to develop new products.

Software Expertise Requirement: You must have thorough knowledge and expertise in using SolidWorks (V2021), AutoCAD (V2022), CorelDRAW etc.

Required experience: At least 5 years in Mechanical design and development, in a manufacturing or engineering-consulting company. We prefer experience in farm-machinery or automotive (2-wheeler or 4-wheeler) segment. You should have good skills in people management, customer-interface, written and verbal communication, trouble shooting and creative thinking etc.

Education: BE or B Tech in Mechanical or Automobile or Production or Industrial Engineering. Diploma in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering can be considered based on skill and experience level.

Travel: You will need to occasionally travel to HO, branches, customers, and vendors to address various issues.
