Mechanical Design Engineer / Solid works Engineer

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team and drive the development of innovative automated roofing systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing mechanical components, structures, and drive systems, with a focus on materials such as MS steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. They should be proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SketchUp, etc.) and have experience in structural analysis, material selection, and manufacturing processes such as welding, aluminum fitting, and CNC machining.

Role & responsibilities :

• Design and develop mechanical structures, drive mechanisms, and components for automated roofing systems.
• Create 2D drawings (DWG - AutoCAD) and 3D models (SKP - SketchUp, SolidWorks, etc.) with detailed exploded views and assembly instructions.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize fabrication and assembly processes.
• Develop and document installation manuals, technical drawings, and BOMs for production and site teams.
• Work with electrical and automation engineers to integrate drive shaft systems, motors and control mechanisms.
• Evaluate and improve designs for durability, efficiency, and ease of installation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve design and manufacturing challenges.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

Qualification :

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in automation or structural engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SketchUp, or similar design software.
• Knowledge of structural analysis, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and aluminum fitting.
• Experience with drive shaft systems, motorized mechanisms, gear mechanisms.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred candidate profile :

The ideal candidate should possess a combination of technical, analytical, and practical skills to design, develop, and optimize automated roofing systems effectively.

Proficiency in 2D & 3D CAD Software:

• AutoCAD (2D & 3D) Mandatory
• SolidWorks, SketchUp, Inventor, or Fusion 360 Preferred

Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking:

• Ability to analyze mechanical challenges and propose efficient design solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting mindset for installation and fabrication issues.

Quality Control & Testing Methods:

• Ensuring design compliance with structural integrity tests.
• Experience with material testing, load testing, and failure analysis is a plus.
