Welding Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Planning of preparation & approval of documentations required for weld joints, execution of weld joints as per schedule, welder/brazer qualifications as per job requirement and required resources.
• Execution of all weld joints.
• Preparation and approval of WPS, PQR, WDS, BPS and Weld plans as per Job requirement.
• Maintaining the welding related documentation and records.
• Carry out mockup, trials and qualifications for establishing new processes, and improving the existing ones.
• Welder Qualification, Welding consumable qualification, as per codes/standards and customer specification
• Interpretation of welding defects and root cause analysis to mitigate/eliminate the occurrence.
• Manufacturing drawing study and preparation of weld location list, Weld plan for existing and upcoming new projects and giving required inputs from welding point of views to Design/Process planning team.
• Coordinating with Manufacturing, Planning, Assembly, Design and Quality departments for smooth functioning and problem solving.
• Implementation of initiatives such as TPM, 5S, Kaizen.
• Implement and Maintain Quality Management system, OHSAS and EHS.
• Planning and execution of mechanical and metallographic testing.

Preferred candidate profile

• Hands-on experience in pressure vessel manufacturing and a thorough understanding of ASME and API codes
• Knowledge of Tig and SMAW Welding process, pressure vessel.
• Brazing and Soldering processes and Technology of Copper and its alloys
• Knowledge of Welding metallurgy especially for Stainless Steel.
• Knowledge of NDT methods for Weld joints of Nuclear application
• Knowledge of documentation required for maintaining system as per requirement for products in Nuclear Application.
