Head - Quality

The role of a Head - Quality is to control the Quality standard across various stages of Production in line with customer and statutory requirements. He is responsible to establish Quality management system in the plant; prepare detail audit plan and ensure adherence to the same

Quality Control Responsibilities:

• Leadership and Guidance: Lead quality initiatives on-site, implementing systems and controls to meet plant objectives.
• Quality Assurance: Oversee compliance with product standards, both internal and market-driven, ensuring raw materials, in-process, and finished products meet quality expectations.
• Raw Material and Product Mix Design: Supervise quality tests for raw materials, including chemical analysis, and overall control of raw mix and finished product designs.
• Performance Metrics: Ensure the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to product quality, overseeing quality systems and targets.
• Target Setting: Define and set specific quality targets for the production department to align with plant objectives.
• External Relationships: Manage external stakeholder interactions, maintaining solid partnerships.
• Research & Development: Conduct trials for new products (e.g., cement and concrete) to support development efforts.
• Methodology Recommendations: Collaborate with production teams to recommend and implement improved quality control methods.
• Product Testing & Improvement: Coordinate product testing, identify areas for quality improvement, and recommend corrective actions.
• Budgeting: Plan and manage the departments cost and capital budgets, ensuring adherence to revenue and schedule.
• Raw Material & Product Quality: Monitor the quality of raw materials, fuels, and end products to maintain optimal standards.

Regulatory Affairs:

• Compliance Systems: Drive compliance with national and international standards like BIS and NCBM for product quality.
• Audit Success: Ensure successful completion of safety and quality audits, with no issues or discrepancies.
• Training & Continuous Improvement: Develop training programs for continuous improvement of the quality management system (IMS), ensuring all relevant stakeholders are equipped with the necessary knowledge.

Process Excellence & Equipment Calibrations:

• Process Improvement: Lead process excellence initiatives, such as Six Sigma and Total Productive Maintenance, to drive cost efficiency and high-quality levels.
• Instrument Calibration: Ensure instruments are regularly calibrated and validated using national standards, with proper maintenance of calibration standards.
• Laboratory Equipment Calibration: Oversee the calibration of lab equipment both internally and through external agencies, ensuring the reliability of test results
