About the Job :
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Linux System Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Linux-based systems, ensuring their reliability, scalability, and security.
This role requires in-depth technical expertise, leadership, and problem-solving skills to support our mission-critical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities :
System Administration :
- Manage, monitor, and maintain Linux servers and applications.
- Perform system updates, patch management, and security hardening.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Infrastructure Management:
- Design and implement high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
- Optimize system performance and scalability.
- Manage storage solutions and virtualization platforms (i.e., VMware, KVM).
Automation and Scripting :
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Python, Ansible, or similar tools.
- Automate routine tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
Security Compliance :
- Ensure systems adhere to security best practices and compliance standards.
- Conduct regular audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.
- Implement access controls, firewalls, and other security measures.
Collaboration and Leadership :
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, and IT teams to support infrastructure needs.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior administrators.
- Lead projects related to system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
Monitoring and Reporting :
- Set up and maintain system monitoring tools (i.e., Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus).
- Analyze system performance metrics and create detailed reports.
Qualifications :
- Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience : Minimum of 3 years of experience in Linux system administration.
- Proven experience managing large-scale production environments.
Technical Skills :
- Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.)
- Proficiency in shell scripting and one or more programming languages (i.e. , Python).
- Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Expertise in storage management (SAN, NAS) and file systems.
Certifications (Preferred) :
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or similar.
- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or other relevant cloud certifications.
