Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Strategic Procurement Manager to lead procurement initiatives, foster strong relationships with suppliers, and ensure the efficient procurement of materials and services. This role requires strategic collaboration with cross- functional teams, including Sales, Operations, and Finance, while focusing on market analysis, supplier performance, and contract management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing procurement strategies, managing the procurement budget, and leading procurement activities with OEMs/ODMs in alignment with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with contract manufacturers for wires, switches, switchgear, lighting, and other FMEG (Fast-Moving Electrical Goods) products.
- Collaborate with the quality team to monitor the performance of contract manufacturers and explore deeper collaboration opportunities, such as co-investing in capacity expansion.
- Conduct in-depth market analysis and track commodity price fluctuations (Aluminum, Copper, PVC, etc.) to proactively address risks and deviations from procurement targets.
- Develop and execute hedging strategies to mitigate the impact of price volatility on procurement budgets.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements pertaining to procurement activities, contract management, and hedging strategies.
Strategic Planning and Procurement Management:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies in collaboration with Sales, Operations, Finance, and other cross-functional departments.
- Analyse market trends, evaluate suppliers, and negotiate contracts to secure the best value, quality, and pricing.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure consistency in quality, timely delivery, and cost-effectiveness.
- Design long-term contracts and agreements for contract manufacturing that align with business needs.
- Lead the development and management of the procurement budget, ensuring cost-effective purchasing practices.
- Track, analyse, and report on key procurement metrics to identify areas for improvement and drive business value.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies in response to market trends and price fluctuations.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or FMEG environment.
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in developing and executing procurement strategies and managing supplier relationships.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successfully negotiating contracts and long-term agreements.
- Expertise in analysing market trends and managing commodity price risks (Aluminum, Copper, PVC, etc.).
- Knowledge of hedging strategies and regulatory compliance related to procurement.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across functions.
- Familiarity with the FMEG (Fast-Moving Electrical Goods) sector is preferred.
