Nursing Supervisor

A nursing supervisor manages nursing staff, patient care, and nursing operations. They also ensure that patients receive quality care and that nurses follow guidelines. Responsibilities

• Staff management: Hire, schedule, and evaluate nurses, and provide performance reviews
• Patient care: Assign patients to nurses, and ensure that patients receive adequate care
• Policy and procedure development: Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with nursing operating standards and regulatory agencies
• Documentation: Maintain documentation of patient cases, procedures, and nurses' files
• Communication: Respond to patient inquiries and concerns, and communicate job expectations
• Training: Recruit and train new employees, and provide guidance and support to less experienced nurses

Skills and qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of hospital procedures
• Thorough knowledge of legal regulations and best practices in healthcare
• Valid nursing license
