Role & responsibilities

• To ensure handing/taking over the patient procedure is implemented properly by the various categories of staff under them at the time of shift changes.
• Daily / Weekly assignments and daily nursing care plans according to the diagnosis and conditions of patient.
• To prepare duty rosters for every 15 days / 30 days. Availing leave by the staff nurses are approved by the Nursing Head
• To equip the ward with all the necessary materials and equipments medical and surgical, stationary etc.
• To visit the room / ward patients daily.
• To maintain documents related to stock held in the wards.
• To check the drug order daily.
• To raise the slips for investigation.
• To check the pre post operative care of the patients.
• To be responsible to ensure that excellent nursing care is rendered to all patients.
• Prevention and control of cross infection in the ward.
• To ensure that the sterilization activities and to have adequate sterile dressing materials and instruments in their wards.
• To ensure smooth operation in all diagnostic services
• To supervise the staff and evaluate their performance.
• To coordinate with the care facilitator in admission and discharge procedures.
• To take care of the condemnation of materials and maintaining the documents.
• To coordinate with other departmental activities should be related to the health care service of the patients.
• To maintain all registers related to the nursing care.
• To check the disposable of biomedical waste.
• To conduct regular training program and CNE for entire nursing team
• To participate and contribute to departmental quality initiatives
• To be aware of departments performance and objective.
• To adhere safety norms of hospital and follow both patient safety and staff safety rules.
