Deputy Director - Distance Learning and Online Program

Position Summary

The Deputy Director of Online Education at KL University will oversee the development, management, and execution of high-quality online programs that align with the university's strategic goals. The individual in this role will be responsible for the end-to-end administration of online education initiatives, ensuring excellence in course design, faculty support, student experience, and technology integration. This role also involves collaborating with academic departments, ensuring compliance with educational standards, and fostering innovation in digital learning methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Program Development & Management:

• Lead the design and implementation of new online programs, ensuring alignment with the universitys academic objectives.
• Collaborate with academic departments to identify and integrate online course offerings.
• Oversee the maintenance and continuous improvement of existing online courses.

2. Technology & Innovation:

• Drive the adoption of cutting-edge educational technologies to enhance online learning experiences.
• Ensure the smooth functioning of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other digital platforms.
• Evaluate and implement tools for content delivery, assessment, and student engagement.

3. Faculty Training & Support:

• Coordinate faculty development programs to enhance online teaching skills.
• Provide ongoing support and resources to faculty for online course delivery.

4. Student Engagement & Support:

• Enhance the student online learning experience through effective communication, digital engagement tools, and student support services.
• Monitor student feedback and performance data to ensure continuous improvement.

5. Compliance & Quality Assurance:

• Ensure that all online programs meet accreditation standards and comply with government and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular audits and evaluations of online programs to maintain high educational standards.

6. Leadership & Strategic Planning:

• Work closely with the Director of Online Education to develop strategic plans and initiatives for the department.
• Lead cross-functional teams to achieve department goals and objectives.

7. Budget & Resource Management:

• Oversee the budget for the online education department, ensuring efficient use of resources.
• Manage contracts and partnerships with third-party vendors and technology providers.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education:

Doctoral degree in Education, Educational Technology, Online Learning, or a related field.

Experience:

• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in higher education, with at least 5 years in online education or e-learning leadership roles.
• Proven track record of developing and managing successful online education programs.

Skills:

• Strong leadership and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with faculty, students, and stakeholders.
• Expertise in Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital learning tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of instructional design principles and online teaching best practices.
• Successful implementation of new online programs and initiatives.
• Willingness to travel between Vijayawada and Hyderabad campuses, if necessary.
