Job Description

As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within Commercial & Investment Banking units Broker Dealer Platform, you lead a technical area and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and be a driver of innovation and solution delivery. Job responsibilities

Develops and implement technology strategies that align with the organizations goals and objectives, with a focus on post-trade processes and legacy system transformation.
Identifies opportunities for technology innovation and improvement in post-trade operations and system modernization.
Identifies opportunities to streamline and automate post-trade processes to improve efficiency and reduce operational risk, c ollaborate with other departments and senior management to understand technology needs and priorities
Evaluates and select modern technology solutions that enhance system performance, scalability, and security. Also, leads initiatives to transform legacy technology systems to modern platforms, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Oversees the planning, execution, and delivery of technology projects, particularly those related to post-trade processes and legacy system modernization. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
Manages an organization of 40 plus members, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
Keeps abreast about regulatory changes affecting post-trade processes and ensure systems are updated, simultaneously c ollaborates with compliance teams to ensure adherence to relevant financial regulations.
Collaborates with other departments and senior management to understand technology needs and priorities. Communicates technology strategies and initiatives, particularly those related to post-trade and legacy transformation, to stakeholders.
Develops and manage the technology budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources. Monitor and report on financial performance related to technology initiatives.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists
Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager
Practical cloud native experience
Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
Proven track record of leading technology teams and projects, particularly in post-trade processes and legacy system transformation.
Experience at a leading financial services organization.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Experience working at code level
Familiarity with post-trade technology platforms and systems, as well as modern technology solutions including legacy system transformation.
Awareness of regulations affecting post-trade activities, such as Dodd-Frank, EMIR, and MiFID II.
