Safety Engineer

Role & responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Engineer to join our team. As a Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our workplace environment, employees, and operations. Your primary goal will be to minimize risks, prevent accidents, and promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

2. Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.

3. Collaborate with management and department heads to develop safety programs and initiatives.

4. Provide safety training to employees on topics such as hazard recognition, emergency response, and safe work practices.

5. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.

6. Maintain accurate records of safety-related incidents, inspections, and training activities.

7. Stay informed about new developments in safety regulations, technologies, and best practices.

8. Participate in safety committees and meetings to address concerns and promote safety awareness.

Certifications:

• NEBOSH, ADIS, or other safety-related certifications are a must.

Experience:

• Minimum 4-8 years of experience in the safety engineering field, preferably within the construction and engineering industry.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing safety programs on construction or industrial sites.
• Experience with risk assessments, safety audits, and compliance with safety regulations.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of safety regulations, standards (IS 14489, OSHA, local laws), and best practices in the construction/engineering sector.
• Excellent communication skills to conduct training, prepare reports, and collaborate with workers, contractors, and management.
• Ability to handle emergency situations and ensure that safety procedures are followed in high-pressure environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to risk management.
• Proficiency in using safety management software and other tools for inspections, reports, and safety tracking.
