Hiring CA/CPA - EBP Audit
Job Summary:
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced professional to join our Audit & Assurance team specializing in Employee Benefit Plan (EBP) audits.
- The candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and reviewing EBP audits to ensure compliance with ERISA, DOL, and IRS regulations, as well as GAAS and GAAP.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct audits of Employee Benefit Plans (401(k), 403(b), pension, health, and welfare plans).
- Ensure audits are performed in compliance with ERISA, DOL, IRS, GAAS, and GAAP regulations.
- Prepare financial statements, footnotes, and audit reports for EBP clients.
- Identify and communicate audit findings, risks, and control deficiencies to clients and senior management.
- Perform internal control testing and compliance testing related to plan operations.
- Review Form 5500 filings and ensure all regulatory requirements are met.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of EBP regulations and industry best practices.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior staff on EBP audit procedures.
- Develop strong relationships with clients and provide consultative guidance on compliance and best practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certification (preferred): CPA, CFE, or QKA certification is a plus.
Experience:
- Associate: 1-2 years of public accounting/audit experience (EBP audit experience preferred).
- Senior: 3-5 years of EBP audit experience in a CPA firm.
- Manager: 5+ years of experience managing EBP audits and client relationships.
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, GAAP, GAAS, and DOL regulations related to employee benefit plans.
- Experience with audit software (e.g., CaseWare, CCH, ProSystem fx, or similar).
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
