Job Description

Manager - Retail Advisory

Job Location: Mumbai

What this job involves?

• Jointly lead the Delivery Execution Team for Conducting Retail Real Estate Research, Feasibility Studies, Best-Use and Highest-Use Studies and also Retail asset-led Mixed-Use Feasibility Studies

• Work in close collaboration with Retail Transactions, Consulting and Valuations teams across India in leading the delivery of client assignments

• Assist in business development initiatives of the senior team members and help pitch for new assignments

• Dual exposure of a client-facing role combined with guiding, supervising and helping the team execute with the assignment delivery

• Drive Retail led Research - publishing Retail industry specific white papers and research thought-leadership ; working in close collaboration with the JLL India Research Leads

• Assess client requirements, initiate & maintain client interactions, provide inputs on pricing, and participate in proposal discussions and site inspections.

What skill sets does this role require?

• A Consultative, Strategic bent of mind with a reasonable exposure to the transactions business (leasing) of Retail Real Estate

• Must possess a deep understanding of how various Retail formats perform under different Retail Real Estate ecosystems (Shopping Centres, High-Streets, Mixed-Use developments, standalone-retail etc)

• Leasing skills - shall be an added advantage with the experience in either having done real estate business development for a retailer, or, with a developer in successfully assisted in Retail leasing of a project

• Reasonably good understanding of various Retail segments - Fashion, Apparel, Accessories, F&B, Family Entertainment, Multiplexes, Beauty and Personal Care, Jewellery, Department Stores etc

• A basic understanding of real estate and building by-laws

• Execution skills- Report writing - Feasibility report market research report etc., Market surveys, financial modelling, making presentations.

• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Requirements:

• At least 4-6 years of experience in Leasing (preferably with a Retailer or a Retail Developer)

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Business Management (MBA/ MA etc)

• Those with background in in architecture, Urban Planning, Urban Design will be an added advantage

• Excellent Communication & Interpersonal skills. Strong analytical, proven negotiation & financial skills with the ability to adapt to change.
