Electrical Testing Engineer- (DM/MGR)

Desired Qualification & Experience

Bachelors / Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering. 7-10 years in thermal power plants.

Roles and Responsibility/ Duties to be performed.

• Conduct electrical testing for generator system and switchyard system and all plant electrical protection system.
• Coordinate with other electrical maintenance teams like generator, transformers, switch yard and provide feedback based on electrical tests conducted.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirement.
• Plan resource requirements for electrical testing - manpower and materials.
• Network with other electrical maintenance teams in the plant to capture learning.
• Maintain equipment wise records and documentation e.g Failure History.
• Procurement and indenting for materials and spares.

Functional Competencies:

• Knowledge of electrical testing methods for generator and switchyard maintenance includes primary and secondary test.
• Technical knowledge of electrical machines and equipment (e.g. generator, motors, transformers, switch gears, relays).
• Interpretation of test result and forecasting of future remedial action.
• Understanding of working and history of equipment.
• Knowledge of upgraded standard operating procedures with respect to maintenance of main plant, transformers, switch yard and coal handling plant.
• Knowledge of safety requirements and environmental aspects.
• Knowledge of power generation process.
• Knowledge of vendors for testing equipment.
• Knowledge of statutory guidelines related to electrical equipment.
