Job Description for Assistant Manager Indirect Tax

Key Responsibilities:

1. Tax filing & Compliances:

Monthly Activities-

• Assist in preparing data for Monthly GST returns, ensuring alignment with statutory requirements.
• Organize and consolidate supporting documents for tax filings.
• Identify and report discrepancies to the respective team for resolution.
• Support in reconciling vendor and customer tax-related transactions

Yealy Activities-

• Assist in preparing data for Annual Return in GSTR 9 / 9C

2. Audits & Assessments:

• Assist in responding to tax notices, audits, and assessments by tax authorities.
• Liaise with external consultants and auditors for tax-related matters.

3. Documentation:

• Organize and archive tax-related documents for audit readiness.

4. Tax Advisory:

• Provide advice on the tax implications of business decisions and transactions

5. Stakeholder Management:

• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure smooth tax compliance processes.
• Prepare reports and presentations for senior management on indirect tax matters.

6. Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities to streamline tax processes and improve efficiency.

Experience:

• 5-7 years of experience in indirect tax compliances
• CA-Inter pass preferrable
• Hands-on experience with GST laws, filings, and audits.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of indirect tax laws and regulations.
• Proficiency in Excel
• Proficiency in tax software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
