As a long-term partner of Ferrero for Kinder toys, we are expanding our capabilities, including embedded systems for automation and special-purpose machines.
We are looking for an Embedded Engineer / Senior Embedded Engineer to be a key part of our automation and product development team.
This role requires expertise in designing and developing embedded systems, firmware, and hardware solutions for automation, robotics, and IoT-based applications within our high-precision manufacturing environment.
Job Summary :
The Embedded Engineer / Sr. Embedded Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing embedded hardware and software solutions for industrial automation, robotics, and special-purpose machines.
The role involves working closely with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to create innovative solutions that enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality in manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities :
Embedded System Development :
- Design and develop embedded solutions for automation, robotics, and IoT applications in a manufacturing environment.
- Implement real-time control systems for precision machinery and automation equipment.
Microcontroller/Processor Selection & Integration :
- Select, configure, and integrate microcontrollers (ARM, PIC, AVR, STM32, ESP32, etc.) based on project needs.
- Ensure compatibility with industrial sensors, actuators, and communication interfaces.
Firmware Development & Optimization :
- Develop firmware using C, C++, Assembly, Python, and embedded RTOS for real-time control applications.
- Optimize firmware for low power consumption, high performance, and real-time execution.
- Implement communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, MODBUS, and Ethernet.
Hardware Development & PCB Design :
- Design and develop PCB layouts, schematics, and circuits using Altium, Eagle, or KiCad.
- Work with analog and digital circuit design, including power management, signal conditioning, and sensor integration.
System Testing & Validation :
- Develop test plans and debugging strategies for hardware and firmware validation.
- Conduct hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing to verify real-time performance.
- Work with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and debugging tools to troubleshoot issues.
Collaboration & Cross-functional Teamwork :
- Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to develop integrated systems.
- Collaborate with automation teams to develop PLC-integrated embedded solutions.
- Coordinate with the production and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance.
Mentorship & Training :
- Guide and mentor junior engineers in embedded system development.
- Conduct training sessions on best practices for firmware and hardware design.
Documentation & Compliance :
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, test plans, and user manuals.
- Ensure compliance with industrial standards and safety regulations for embedded systems.
Required Skills & Experience :
- Embedded C/C++, Assembly, Python programming for real-time applications.
- Strong knowledge of microcontrollers/microprocessors (ARM Cortex, STM32, ESP32, etc.
- Experience with PCB design, circuit design, and debugging hardware.
- Hands-on experience with RTOS, FreeRTOS, and bare-metal programming.
- Proficiency in communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, MODBUS, RS485, etc.
- Experience with wireless technologies (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, LoRa, RF, NFC).
- Strong knowledge of sensors, actuators, power management circuits, and industrial automation.
- Experience with debugging tools like JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
- Ability to work on multi-disciplinary projects (mechanical, electrical, software integration).
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, IEC, and CE certification standards for embedded systems.
Preferred Skills (Good to Have) :
- Experience in PLC integration and industrial automation.
- Knowledge of AI/ML-based embedded applications.
- Experience with Linux-based embedded systems and Raspberry Pi/BeagleBone platforms.
- Hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink for control system design.
- Exposure to automotive or medical-grade embedded systems
