The Opportunity:
The Head of People & Culture is a senior leadership role responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management across multiple regions. A key focus of this role will be overseeing blue-collar hiring at a PAN India level, ensuring a robust talent pipeline, compliance with labor laws, and seamless workforce deployment. The role will also collaborate with all functional SME's and drive HR strategy, Talent Acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, Learning & Development, Payroll, Compliance & IR.
Key Responsibilities:
Workforce Planning (PAN India):
- Lead end-to-end blue-collar recruitment across all regions, ensuring workforce availability for operational needs.
- Develop cost-effective hiring strategies leveraging staffing agencies, job fairs, direct sourcing, and internal referrals.
- Monitor and improve time-to-hire, hiring costs, and attrition.
- Ensure timely hiring and onboarding of employees as per approved budgets and workforce plans.
- Standardize onboarding and induction programs to enhance retention and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and wage regulations across different states.
People & Culture Strategy:
- Drive the People & Culture agenda for the respective business unit, ensuring alignment with corporate HR strategy.
- Set standards for ethics, values, and company culture, ensuring consistency across regions.
- Research and analyze employee trends to improve engagement, morale, and retention.
- Lead HR transformation initiatives, driving innovation in talent management and employee experience.
Employee Relations & Compliance:
- Act as a key advisor to management on employee relations, grievance handling, and conflict resolution.
- Ensure strict compliance with labor laws, wage structures, and HR policies.
- Proactively identify and mitigate IR (Industrial Relations) risks, ensuring smooth business operations.
- Ensure all required audit documentation and statutory displays are maintained as per central and state regulations.
Performance Management:
- Drive performance management processes across all accounts, ensuring a structured feedback mechanism.
- Work closely with L&D teams to identify training needs and implement learning initiatives.
- Monitor and report on succession planning for key roles.
Compensation, Payroll & Benefits:
- Oversee error-free payroll processing, ensuring timely salary disbursement.
- Cross-check salary master data against contractual payouts for accuracy.
- Address employee queries related to payroll, benefits, and incentives.
Employee Engagement & Recognition:
- Implement employee recognition and engagement initiatives, leveraging company programs like ISS Apple Awards.
- Drive periodic employee surveys and ensure action plans based on feedback.
- Work closely with leadership and employees to build morale and improve workplace relationships.
Desired Experience:
- MBA/PG in HR preferred.
- 8-10 years of relevant HR experience with significant exposure to blue-collar workforce management.
- Extensive experience in stakeholder management and end-to-end HR functions.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws, payroll, and compliance requirements.
- Experience working in matrix organizations and multi-location HR operations.

- Strong understanding of organizational and client site dynamics.
- Ability to manage workforce complexities across multiple locations.
- Expertise in negotiation, problem-solving and decision-making.
- Ability to adapt to change and drive HR transformation initiatives.
- Strong business acumen, with knowledge of financial and operational HR metrics.
