JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will work closely with the chief executive officer (CEO) and will be leading functions such as Financial planning and analysis, Internal controls, Regulatory Relations and Strategic Planning. This role plays a critical part in shaping the company's financial future ensuring financial stability, and driving growth of the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):
- Lead the FP&A function, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling to support informed decision-making.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
Internal Controls:
- Establish and maintain robust internal control systems and financial policies to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Regularly review and improve internal processes and controls to enhance operational efficiency and mitigate risks.
Regulatory Relations:
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities, ensuring compliance with all financial and reporting regulations and requirements.
- Stay informed about changes in financial regulations and proactively adapt company practices to remain compliant.
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement financial strategies and plans that align with the company's overall objectives and growth initiatives.
- Collaborate with the executive team to provide financial insights and recommendations for optimizing the organization's performance.
Financial Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, reports, and disclosures in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Treasury and Capital Management:
- Manage the company's capital structure, including debt and equity financing, to optimize liquidity and cost of capital.
- Make strategic decisions regarding investments, working capital, and cash flow management.
Desired Qualifications/ knowledge:
- Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Proven experience (typically 12+ years) in finance and accounting roles, with a significant portion in leadership positions in Fintech Companies.
- Fintech industry experience and understanding of its unique financial dynamics.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, compliance and risk management.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive financial growth and operational efficiency.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Should be a natural business partner, and be willing to go that extra mile to work beyond the set KPIs.
