- Job Purpose: To ensure the efficient, safe, and sustainable production of high-quality ammonium nitrate, optimizing processes, maintaining compliance, and leading a high-performing team to meet production targets and organizational goals.
- Oversee the production process of ammonium nitrate, ensuring optimal efficiency, quality, and output.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production rates, yield, and energy consumption to ensure targets are met.
- Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
- Ensure the smooth and safe operation of ammonium nitrate production facilities, including reactors, neutralizers, and granulators.
- Coordinate with the operations team to maintain consistent production levels and address any operational issues promptly.
- Ensure all production activities comply with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations and standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility among the workforce.
- Establish and enforce quality control measures to ensure the ammonium nitrate produced meets industry standards and customer specifications.
- Conduct regular testing and analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and final products.
- Address any quality issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Oversee the maintenance of ammonium nitrate production equipment to ensure reliability and minimize downtime.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to extend the lifespan of critical assets.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team to address equipment failures and perform necessary repairs.
- Prepare and manage the production budget, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources.
- Monitor expenditures, control costs, and report financial performance to senior management.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g., senior management, operations, maintenance, quality assurance) and external stakeholders (e.g., suppliers, regulatory bodies) to ensure alignment and support for production activities.
- Communicate production updates, challenges, and milestones to stakeholders regularly.
- Identify and implement process optimization initiatives to improve production efficiency and product quality.
- Utilize data analysis and process modeling to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to design and implement process modifications.
- Ensure all necessary permits and approvals are obtained from regulatory authorities for ammonium nitrate production.
- Stay updated on changes in regulations and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Incorporate sustainable practices into ammonium nitrate production to minimize environmental impact.
- Explore opportunities for energy efficiency, waste reduction, and emission control.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of production activities, including production reports, quality records, and maintenance logs.
- Prepare and present detailed production reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans for potential production disruptions or safety incidents.
- Lead the response to production emergencies, ensuring minimal impact on operations and safety.
