What is the Composite group responsible for?
- Composite Group, where you’ll ensure GIPS compliance and manage composite calculations, supporting various GIPS firms across the organization. This role involves overseeing all aspects of GIPS compliance, including composite building, calculation, and firmwide reporting, as well as coordinating annual GIPS audits and handling ad-hoc requests. You’ll work with a diverse range of asset types, including equity, fixed income, multi-assets, and digital assets, within both SMA and institutional business lines. Additionally, you’ll lead and contribute to composite-related projects, system integrations, and initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiencies.

What is Senior Composite Analyst – Investment Performance and Risk responsible for?
- Providing data and support to marketing, sales, product and other internal teams regarding composite performance, portfolio dispersion, risk statistics and other performance related inquiries.
- Gather documents, research issues and support annual GIPS verifications
- Perform data validation, exception processing and composite dispersion testing to improve data coverage and to ensure accuracy.
- Create and run database queries, design report templates and improve monthly processing.
- Stay current with GIPS policies and changes, apply GIPS standards to composite building and reporting.
- Perform analysis of the portfolios to explain the portfolios’ return and characteristics.
- Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports using the information from various applications / teams to deliver accurate reports within prescribed deadlines ensuring that all internal controls are met.
- Maintain composites records in accordance with Global Investment Performance Standard (GIPS®); and work to support the Firm’s annual external verification.
- Support various composite and GIPS projects, including automation / standardization, GIPS policy and procedures and efforts to improve deliverables.
- Strong proficiency in Excel is must, VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, INDEX, COUNTIF, SUMIF, power query, Pivot etc.
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in a quantitative discipline, MBA or Master of Financial Engineering.
- 4-10 years relevant work experience in the Financial Services Industry generally, preferably some with investment performance, compositing and GIPS compliance.
- Superior quantitative skills required. The candidate should be familiar with statistical theory and have a good understanding of financial instruments and markets.
- Progress toward or completion of CFA or CIPM preferred
- Good working knowledge of performance and risk.
- Proficiency with SQL is desirable, as is evidence of experience with data related projects.
