Engineer - ATEX/ Hazloc

Scope: Support the Electrical Hazardous Business team to exceed Hazardous Area testing requirements efficiently and effectively. Ensure delivery of these services is consistent, and in support of, corporate and divisional values, policies and objectives and enhances Intertek image as a Global leader in Hazardous Area Product Certification.

Role & responsibilities

1. Support the Test Laboratory in routine activities.

2. Need to be hands-on individual of independent handling of the Product certification to at least following standards:

• EN/IEC/IS 60079-0 Electrical apparatus for explosive gas atmospheres: General Requirements
• EN/IEC/IS 60079-1 Explosive atmospheres Part 1: Equipment protection by flameproof protection d
• EN/IEC/IS 60079-2 Explosive atmospheres Part 2: Equipment protection by Pressurized enclosure "p";
• EN/IEC/IS 60079-6 Explosive atmospheres Part 1: Equipment protection by Liquid immersion "o
• EN/IEC/IS 60079-7 Explosive atmospheres Part 7: Equipment's Protection by Increased Safety e
• EN/IEC/IS 60079-15 Explosive atmospheres Part 15: Equipment protection by type of protection n
• EN/IEC/IS 60079-18 Explosive atmospheres Part 18: Equipment protection by encapsulation m
• EN/IEC/IS 60079-31 Explosive Atmospheres Part 31: Equipment dust ignition protection by enclosure t”

3. Draft test plans.

Candidate will have to Review/prepare a test plan/ test data. Test plan/data is a specification sheet for a particular product and it contains

- different test parameters

- relevant test method/standard

- requirement / limit / acceptance criteria of each test.

4. Review/Prepare Test reports as per above the Test Plan/Test Data.

5. Conversant with NABL, IECEx, BIS External and Internal Audit.

6. Provide technical assistance to clients and manage and resolve customer issues to ensure services delivered result in a high level of customer satisfaction.

7. Be a mentor to the team and lead by example. Address all non-conformances within specified timelines.

8. Improve employee engagement within team.

9. Ensure quality of service is maintained throughout the certification and inspection process.

10. Balance workload between team members and other regional offices/international to ensure high level of customer satisfaction is maintained.

11. Ensure commitment dates are and in line with team targets.

12. Responsible for occupational safety and housekeeping.

Education & Experience:

• Graduate or Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• 3+ years of certification or equivalent technical experience.
• Independent Individual, with leadership skills and ability to manage and inspire staff.
• Experience in the area of Hazardous Area Product Certification or technical understanding of products in the area of electrical/electronic engineering is preferred.
