Pharmacist

Role & responsibilities

• Overall control of clinic pharmacies (health stores including pharmaceuticals, and medical stores, first aid kits);
• Maintain up to date, complete and accurate stock information and undertake periodic review of stock, using the electronic medical records system
• Ensure stock availability of drugs and consumables to minimise PMC costs and reduce wastage through efficient stock movements
• Conduct stock takes of health stores in accordance with Intl.SOS/Client stock taking policies.
• Reporting of stock take results in accordance with all relevant Intl.SOS/Client Policies.
• Dispensing medicines and counselling to Entitled Personnel in accordance with standard instructions and policy, Country acts and regulations;
• Act as a safety net - review what is being prescribed and be ready to discuss with the prescriber if there is a potential safety issue with the prescription or opportunities to optimize
• Promoting safe, effective and appropriate use of medications and over the counter pharmaceuticals in accordance with standard instructions and policy, and Country acts and regulations;
• Manage repeat/refill prescriptions
• Recommend changes to prescriptions and give advice on prescribing.
• Monitor the effects of treatment to ensure that it is safe and effective
• Pre-labelling of and management of issue of medicines for kits, mobile teams and Pensioner Support Teams;
• Participating in Medication Reviews;
• Within own professional area of competence, advise other healthcare professionals, including doctors and nurses, on how to choose medicines and use them correctly
• Auditing and reporting areas of non-compliance with medicines policy; and managing patients in accordance with approved protocols.

Preferred candidate profile

Candidate must have completed Bachelors in Pharmacy

Must have a minimum of two years of experience

Must have a valid West Bengal Pharmacy council registration
