IT Systems Manager - Level III

• Lead company-wide projects to completion, using both technical and relational skills.
• Design, implement and manage a highly available, scalable, and secure on and off-prem

orchestration platform (PaaS, IaaS, and SaaS) that allows the company to deploy and

run our services.

• Influence architectural decisions with focus on security, scalability and high-

performance.

• Build end-to-end documentation and instrumentation of our platform to ensure

visibility, automation, self-healing and resiliency throughout the stack.

• Collaborate with other IS teams to foster solid engineering principles, leading cross-

functional teams when necessary to meet business objectives

• Adhere to existing HIPAA, PHI, and HITRUST compliance requirements.
• Hires, trains, develops and appraises staff effectively. Takes corrective action as

necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Consults with

Human Resources as appropriate.

• Maintain an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with

Company policies.

• Keep commitments and keep direct supervisor informed of work progress, timetables,

and issues.

• Maintain strict compliance with State, Federal and other regulations (e.g., OSHA, WC,

HIPAA, ADA, FEHA, DOL, HR policies and practices).

• Other duties as assigned by management.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES/TALENTS:

• Deep understanding of systems and application design, including the operational trade-

offs of various designs.

• Experience managing container-based workloads, using Kubernetes or Mesos or other

orchestration software.

• Expertise with infrastructure/configuration management systems such as Ansible,

Puppet or Terraform.

• Highly proficient with modern Unix/Linux operating systems/distributions.
• Highly proficient with Azure Architecture and Management
• Highly proficient with Google Cloud Platform Architecture and Management.
• Attracts, trains, develops, and retains talent to ensure business objectives are met.
• Team player and individual contributor coupled with excellent communication skills and

interpersonal skills in order to provide guidance to less experienced team members.

• Possesses an Ops-centric approach to everything built, ensuring availability,

performance and security are core components.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

Any combination of the following totaling 7-10 years of experience:

• College coursework in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, IT Management,

or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its

proportional equivalent:

○ 60 semester hours or associate degree equals one year

○ 90 semester hours equals two years

○ 120 semester hours or bachelors degree equals three years

(Note: Only a maximum of 3 years credit for college course work is available.)

• Work experience in enterprise automation.
• Have 3+ years of experience designing, deploying and operating mid to large scale

enterprise or cloud environments.

• 2+ years of team-lead or management experience

DESIRABLE:

• Experience in the healthcare industry.
