Mechanical Design Engineer - Electric Vehicle & Catia

Job description

• We are currently seeking a BSS Design engineer, who will be functionally working on sheet metal & plastic design who be a key contributor to the Reliance BSS project.
• As a design engineer you will be responsible for the complete BSS & its sub system design & development by meeting functional requirements & performance criteria

which includes creating 3D models in Catia V5, adhering to regulatory, interfacing with system engineer & CAE engineer and understand the requirements and release 3D & 2D design in PLM.

• You must have good communication and want to work in a very dynamic environment requiring self-starting to lead the design and concern resolution of the design in an environment that could ultimately be very disruptive in the mobility sector

Job Accountabilities

• Preparation of BSS & its subsystem modelling and drawings in Catia V5
• Complete study of various regulatory requirements for BSS and adherence of regulatory requirements
• Interfacing, documenting and capturing the internal and external system requirements in the design.
• To interface with cross functional systems like electrical, stations, communication, network analysis, safety, requirement manager, verification and validation, certification etc.
• Understanding the DVP requirements & reflecting in CAD.
• Benchmarking, Concept design, Master section preparation and new ideas generation.
• Release of CAD, drawings & BOM in PLM tool as per project timelines
• Interact with CAE and optimize design for composite materials and optimize Cost & Weight based on CAE simulations
• Research and development of new technologies of BSS
• Create & verify manufacturing drawings before PLM release

Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills)

• Very good Expertise in CATIA V5 (Must)
• Very good understanding of product development gateway methodologies
• Good understanding of sheet metal, composite & plastic manufacturing best practices and guidelines, Feasibility study
• Good understanding of CAE
• Good understanding of GD&T.
• Good understating of fixture design.
• Excellent communication, personal, and governance skills.
• Problem and conflict resolution utilizing both experience and process driven methods

Key Attributes (Experience and Qualifications)

• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in automotive /rail / aviation industry,
• Technical leadership of Cad
• Application of rail or automotive best practices for project delivery and engineering excellence
• Experience gained within an OEM or tier 1 suppliers
• Bachelors in mechanical engineering or equivalent
