Senior Manager - Actuarial - General Insurance

Role Title: Actuarial - Reinsurance

Role Overview: InsuranceDekho is looking for an Actuarial Professional with 48 years of experience in insurance product development to join our team in Gurgaon. This role will be responsible for pricing, risk assessment, regulatory reporting, and actuarial modeling for insurance products across various categories.

The ideal candidate should have cleared CT exams – 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6, possess strong analytical skills, and have hands-on experience in actuarial functions within life, health, or general insurance.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Development & Pricing

• Design and develop new insurance products based on market trends and risk analysis.
• Conduct pricing models and actuarial valuations to ensure competitive and profitable products.
• Work closely with underwriting, risk, and business teams to optimize product strategies.

Risk Assessment & Reserving

• Perform claims analysis, loss ratio calculations, and risk modeling to assess product performance.
• Calculate reserves and solvency margins to ensure financial stability.
• Support reinsurance strategies and risk transfer mechanisms.

Regulatory Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure compliance with IRDAI guidelines and actuarial standards.
• Prepare and submit actuarial reports, including Solvency, ALM (Asset Liability Management), and Risk-Based Capital calculations.
• Work on regulatory audits, disclosures, and financial forecasting.

Data Analytics & Actuarial Modelling

• Utilize statistical and actuarial models to assess risk exposure and predict future trends.
• Work with large datasets to derive insights on policyholder behavior and claims experience.
• Optimize pricing models using Excel, R, Python, or actuarial software.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Engage with product, finance, underwriting, and sales teams to align actuarial functions with business goals.
• Present actuarial findings and product recommendations to senior leadership.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

Educational Qualifications:

• 4–8 years of experience in actuarial roles within insurance (life, health, or general insurance).
• Cleared CT exams – 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6.
• Strong expertise in pricing, reserving, risk modeling, and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency in Excel, R, Python, SAS, or actuarial software.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
