Role: Instructional Designer
At GLA University, we are seeking a skilled Instructional Designer to join our team and play a crucial role in creating eBooks, eLearning tutorials, video-based content, and storyboards.
The Instructional Designer will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality digital learning materials that effectively convey information and enhance learner engagement. This role requires a strong understanding of instructional design principles, creativity, and the ability to work collaboratively with subject matter experts and multimedia professionals.
Key Responsibilities Areas
• Design and create instructional materials, including eBooks, eLearning modules, video scripts,
and storyboards that align with learning objectives and enhance user engagement.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to assess training needs and learning goals, ensuring that
content is tailored to the target audience.
• Develop detailed storyboards for eLearning courses and video content, outlining the structure,
flow, and visual elements of each project.
• Collaborate with graphic designers, videographers, and other team members to integrate
multimedia elements into instructional materials.
• Review and edit content for accuracy, clarity, and alignment with instructional goals, ensuring
high-quality deliverables.
• Implement assessment strategies to measure the effectiveness of instructional materials and
make data-driven improvements.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines and deadlines are met while
maintaining high-quality standards.
• Stay current with trends in instructional design, eLearning technologies, and best practices to
enhance the effectiveness of learning materials.
Knowledge and Skills
• Proficiency with learning management systems
• Excellent project management and organizational skills
• Experience with content design platforms
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey
technical information to non-technical colleagues and clients
• Critical thinking skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous deadlines
• Deep understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design models(e.g., ADDIE,
SAM), and best practices in e-learning and blended learning
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional
teams and stakeholders
• A creative mindset with the ability to design engaging and innovative learning experiences
Experience
3+ years of professional experience in instructional design, eLearning development, or a related field, with a strong portfolio demonstrating a range of projects.
Educational Background
Bachelors/Masters degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning & Development or a related field.
