Job Description:
Job Title:- Content Editor & Writer
Location:- Bangalore (WFO)
Job Summary:
The Content Editor & Writer will be responsible for developing and executing content strategies that attract, engage, and convert target audiences. This role requires a versatile individual with exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, combined with a strong understanding of SEO principles and marketing best practices. You will be responsible for creating a wide range of marketing content, including website copy, email campaigns, social media posts, brochures, scripts, ad copy, and more. Your primary goal is to increase website traffic, generate leads, and ultimately drive sales growth.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Content Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement comprehensive content strategies aligned with overall marketing goals and business objectives, in close collaboration with the SEO team.
- Conduct thorough keyword research and competitive analysis to identify content opportunities, utilizing SEO tools and insights.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to understand target audiences and their needs.
- Create and maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent and engaging content delivery, aligned with the overall SEO strategy.
2. Content Creation & Editing:
- Write high-quality, original, and engaging content for various marketing channels, including:
i. Website copy (landing pages, product descriptions, blog posts, etc.)
ii. Email marketing campaigns (newsletters, promotional emails, onboarding sequences)
iii. Social media content (posts, stories, captions, ads)
iv. Marketing brochures and sales collateral
v. Scripts for video and audio content
vi. Ad copy for online advertising platforms
- Edit and proofread content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, and consistency.
- Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines and tone of voice.
- Optimize content for search engines (SEO) using best practices and collaborating with the SEO team to incorporate target keywords, internal links, and other relevant elements.
3. Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track and analyze content performance metrics, such as website traffic, engagement rates, conversion rates, and organic search rankings.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimize content performance, based on SEO data and insights.
- Prepare regular reports on content performance and insights, including
SEO-related metrics.
4. Collaboration & Communication:
- Collaborate with designers, developers, and SEO team members to create compelling and visually appealing content.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather information and feedback.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest content marketing trends and best practices, including SEO advancements.
- Actively participate in SEO team meetings and contribute to the overall SEO strategy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in content writing and editing, with a strong focus on SEO and a proven track record of increasing organic website traffic and driving sales.
- Deep understanding of SEO principles, including keyword research, on-page optimization, link building, and technical SEO.
- Experience using SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, or similar.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong understanding of content marketing principles and strategies.
- Experience with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and advertising.
- Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Klaviyo).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with SEO specialists to achieve measurable results.
- A portfolio of relevant writing samples showcasing successful content campaigns and SEO achievements.
