JD for Junior Accountant

Job Title: Junior Accountant

We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate must possess a good knowledge of bookkeeping and journal entries and be able to update financial data in databases to ensure that information is accurate and immediately available when needed. The candidate must also have a strong attention to detail, be able to resolve accounts payable and receivable issues or queries, and accurately perform reconciliations of cash, check and credit card transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Update accounts payable and receivable and perform reconciliations.

- Resolve accounts payable and receivable issues or queries.

- Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.

- Maintain and record fixed assets and Investments.

- Analyze and reconcile bank statements and general ledgers.

- Accurately perform reconciliations of cash, cheque, and credit card transactions, and tally and file invoices.

- Assist with the preparation of financial statements.

- Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.

- Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.

- Assist with other accounting projects as needed.

Requirements:

- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.

- Good knowledge of bookkeeping and journal entries.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

- Prior experience in accounts payable and receivable is a plus.
