Data Engineer - Snowflake DB (8-12 yrs)

Job Description :

Key Responsibilities :

1. Snowflake Expertise :

- Implement and optimize end-to-end data solutions using Snowflake's platform, including SnowSQL, Snowpipe, Stages, Streams, Tasks, and External Tables.

- Handle semi-structured data (XML/JSON) efficiently within the Snowflake environment.

2. Migration & Certification :

- Leverage experience in large-scale migration projects to orchestrate data movement from legacy systems to Snowflake.

- Possess or be willing to obtain relevant Snowflake certifications to stay current with platform enhancements.

3. Advanced SQL & Programming :

- Develop complex queries and optimize performance using advanced SQL techniques.

- Write and maintain clean, efficient, and well-documented Python scripts (desirable).

4. Database Design & Modeling :

- Contribute to database design activities, including schema creation and data model development.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure best practices and governance standards.

5. Innovation & Leadership :

- Identify improvement opportunities and proactively propose solutions beyond the immediate scope.

- Mentor junior team members, promoting an environment of continuous learning and collaboration.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 8-12 years of overall experience, with at least 5 years on Snowflake

- Strong proficiency in SnowSQL, Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, and External Tables.

- Experience handling XML/JSON and other semi-structured data in a Snowflake environment.

- Proficiency in SQL and advanced SQL.

- Python scripting knowledge (desirable).

- Familiarity with creating and managing Snowflake Procedures and UDFs.

- Query optimization expertise is a plus.

- Exposure to challenging roles, leadership responsibilities, or reputable organizations is highly valued.
