The Node.js / PHP Developer is responsible for developing and maintaining web applications using both Node.js and PHP. This role involves working with both front-end and back-end technologies to build scalable, secure, and high-performing applications. The developer will collaborate with other team members to implement business logic, integrate APIs, and ensure the successful delivery of web solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

• Application Development : Develop scalable, high-performance web applications using Node.js for back-end services and PHP for web solutions, ensuring both technologies are used effectively to meet business requirements.
• Back-End Development : Write server-side logic and APIs using Node.js (with Express.js or other frameworks) and PHP. Integrate with databases and external APIs to enhance functionality.
• Database Interaction : Design, implement, and manage databases (SQL or NoSQL) such as MySQL, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL, ensuring data consistency, security, and optimized queries.
• API Development : Create and manage RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services for seamless data exchange between systems.
• Full-Stack Development : Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic, ensuring smooth data flow and enhancing user experience.
• Code Optimization : Write efficient, clean, and reusable code for both Node.js and PHP, optimizing performance for large-scale applications.
• Testing and Debugging : Perform unit and integration testing for both Node.js and PHP components, debugging and troubleshooting issues as they arise to ensure application stability and security.
• Security Implementation : Implement secure coding practices, addressing common vulnerabilities like SQL injection, cross-site scripting (XSS), and cross-site request forgery (CSRF) for both Node.js and PHP-based applications.
• Version Control : Use version control systems such as Git for collaborative development and code management.
• Documentation : Maintain clear and concise documentation for both the back-end logic and API integration processes to ensure long-term maintainability.
• Deployment and Maintenance : Assist with the deployment and maintenance of applications on production servers, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
• Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams including front-end developers, designers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the project is delivered on time and meets the required technical specifications.
• Continuous Learning : Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in web development, Node.js, PHP, and related frameworks to continuously improve coding skills.

Skills and Qualifications :

• Educational Background : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Node.js Expertise : Strong experience in Node.js and associated frameworks (e.g., Express.js, Koa) for building fast, scalable applications.
• PHP Expertise : In-depth knowledge of PHP, including familiarity with frameworks like Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter for building robust web applications.
• Database Knowledge : Experience with both SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases, including database design, query optimization, and management.
• API Development : Strong experience with RESTful API development and integration, including authentication and authorization (OAuth, JWT).
• Front-End Knowledge : Basic understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end frameworks) to integrate back-end services with user-facing components.
• Security Practices : Understanding of web application security principles and best practices to protect applications from vulnerabilities.
• Version Control : Proficiency in Git or other version control systems to manage code collaboration and deployment workflows.
• Problem-Solving : Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues across the full stack.
• Agile Methodology : Familiarity with Agile or Scrum development practices for collaborative, iterative development.
• Communication Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and clear documentation.

Desirable Skills :

• Cloud Experience : Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure for hosting Node.js and PHP applications.
• Containerization : Knowledge of Docker and container orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes) for deploying and managing applications in containerized environments.
• DevOps Practices : Familiarity with DevOps practices, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and automated testing.
