Technical Documentation Specialist

Role & responsibilities

• Content Creation: Write and maintain user manuals, product documentation, online help systems, FAQs, release notes, API documentation, and other technical content.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product, and support teams to gather information and ensure documentation accuracy and completeness.
• Content Management: Organize and structure documents in a way that ensures ease of access and use, and update documentation as needed to reflect product changes.
• Quality Assurance: Proofread and edit documents for consistency, style, and technical accuracy.
• Research: Investigate and understand complex technical concepts and translate them into user-friendly language.
• Process Improvement: Continuously suggest and implement improvements to documentation workflows and tools.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Familiarity with software documentation tools such as MS Word, Confluence, MadCap Flare, or similar.
• Understanding of technical topics, such as software development, system architecture, or engineering concepts.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams.
• Experience with API documentation and tools like Swagger, Postman, etc.
• Knowledge of markup languages like HTML, Markdown, or LaTeX.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
• Basic knowledge of graphic design tools for including diagrams or screenshots in documentation.
