Procurement Engineer-Fire & Safety Industry

Job Overview:

Indus Fire and Safety Private Limited is seeking a motivated and energetic Procurement Engineer to manage procurement activities related to fire hydrant project and fire vehicle fabrication. This role is ideal for fresh graduates or those with up to 2 years of experience who are eager to start their career in procurement. The successful candidate will handle the acquisition of materials, equipment, and

services for the above said activitites. Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills are essential to excel in this role.

Key Responsibilities of Role:

• Sourcing and Procurement:
• Assist in sourcing materials, equipment, and services.
• Manage procurement activities, including issuing and tracking purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery of materials.
• Stay updated on market trends and product developments.

• Vendor Management:

• Identify and engage with suppliers and vendors to procure materials within the required specifications and budget.
• Build and maintain good relationships with vendors to ensure consistent quality and timely delivery.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure cost-effective procurement without compromising quality.
• Developing new vendors

• Cost and Quality Management:

• Ensure that procured materials meet industry standards and project requirements.
• Work within the allocated budget for procurement activities, ensuring cost- effectiveness while maintaining quality.

• Documentation and Compliance:

• Maintain accurate procurement records, including supplier agreements, purchase orders, and invoices.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and relevant industry standards.

• Collaboration and Coordination:

• Work closely with project teams and warehouse personnel to coordinate the timely receipt and distribution of materials.
• Assist in tracking inventory levels and ensure sufficient stock for ongoing projects.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

• Educational Background:
• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Freshers or candidates with up to 2 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or related roles are encouraged to apply.

• Industry Knowledge:

• Basic understanding of piping and pipeline systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of pipeline fittings is a plus.

• Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Excel and Word is mandatory.
• Familiarity with Tally is a plus.
• Email communication skills are essential for daily interactions with vendors and team members.

• Soft Skills:

• Strong negotiation skills to secure the best terms with suppliers.
• Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
• Team player who can collaborate effectively with colleagues and suppliers.
