Lead Sourcing, Strategy, Costing & Contract Management (Wind & eBoP)

This role commands the sourcing, strategy, costing, and contract lifecycle for Wind and e-BoP components. Responsibilities encompass developing granular, bottom-up cost models for all key components (modules, inverters, mounting structures, etc.), rigorously benchmarking prices against domestic and international market standards, expertly leading commercial negotiations with vendors to secure optimal terms, and formulating and executing comprehensive supply chain strategies to minimize total cost of ownership. Furthermore, the role demands in-depth analysis of evolving market dynamics, fluctuating commodity prices, and government policies (ALMM, BCD, GST, PLI schemes, etc.) impacting solar procurement decisions to ensure a competitive edge.

KRA

Costing & Price Benchmarking (Wind)

• Develop bottom-up cost models for key wind components Wind turbines, towers, nacelles, blades, transformers, foundations etc. & updated industry benchmarks to bidding and BD teams to ensure optimal IRRs while bidding
• Conduct cost breakdown analysis (BOM/BOP) to determine target pricing for procurement.
• Benchmark supplier costs across domestic & international markets to optimize sourcing.
• Track commodity price fluctuations (steel, aluminium, copper, logistics) and assess cost impact on above Wind / BoP components. As a subject matter expert track commodity price trends based on geopolitical events and suggest sourcing / hedging strategies to be ahead of curve

• Cost Model Accuracy- Maintain cost estimates within 5% variance of actual procurement costs.
• Supplier Benchmarking- Update and publish supplier cost benchmarks quarterly for key components.
• Commodity Price Tracking- Provide monthly reports on commodity price trends with sourcing/hedging recommendations.

Commercial & Vendor Negotiations

• Support price negotiations wind suppliers using detailed cost models.
• Structure long-term supply agreements (LTAs), volume discounts, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Work closely with the supply chain & procurement teams to drive cost savings, delivery schedules, & supplier performance.
• Evaluate vendor proposals from a commercial & technical perspective.
• Based on existing relationship with Wind OEMs and their financial health come up with sourcing strategy for near, mid and long term. With v/s without Tower procurement, turnkey v/s Supply and E&C etc.
• Prepare and manage Wind Turbine Supply agreements, Tower supply agreement, BoP agreement etc. aligned with best of industry terms and condition.

• Cost Savings - Achieve measurable cost reduction through vendor negotiations annually.
• LTA & Contracts- Finalize long-term supply agreements with optimal pricing and risk mitigation.
• Vendor Evaluation - Complete commercial and technical evaluation of all major vendor proposals within defined timelines.
