Staff Nurse

Duties and Responsibilities:-

• Pre-procedure duties consist of checking clinically important aspects of the patient entering the cath lab.
• To ensure bedside nursing care to the assigned patient in CCU based on basic assessment and evaluating outcomes.
• To perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation in case of emergency
• To assist in various procedures like bronchoscopy intubation, pleural tapping, CVP insertion, PTCA, angiography, angioplasty, etc
• To carry out nursing procedures e.g. injections, medications, catheterization, cannulation, etc.
• To monitor vital signs hourly and report any deviation from normal to the concerned authority.
• To maintain intake and output chart after monitoring IV Fluids, oral intake, and urine output.
• To administer medication and treatment to the patient as the physician prescribes.
• To ensure all professional/clinical practices are in line with Policies and ISIC Standards.
• To ensure appropriate and accurate nursing and medical records are maintained by self.
• To make rounds with doctors.
• To give psychological support to patients and relatives i.e. End of life care patient
• Any other job assigned by the appropriate higher authority.
• Assist physicians during catheterization procedures, angioplasties, and other cardiac procedures.
• Understanding of Special devices including intraaortic balloon pumps, thrombus aspiration systems, etc.
• Maintains inventory of stock items
• To ensure bedside nursing care to the assigned patient in the ICU based on basic assessment and evaluating outcomes.
• To give psychological support to patients and relatives i.e. End of life care patients.
• To perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation in case of emergency
• To assist in various procedures like bronchoscopy intubation, pleural tapping, and CVP insertion.
• To carry out nursing procedures e.g. injections, medications, catheterization, cannulation, etc.

• To maintain input and output chart after monitoring IV Fluids, oral intake, and urine output.
• To administer medication and treatment to the patient as prescribed by the physician.
• To work as a good team in case of emergency.
• To operate a ventilator, syringe pump, cardiac monitor, etc.
• To ensure all professional/clinical practices are in line with Policies and ISIC Standards.
• To ensure appropriate and accurate nursing and medical records are maintained by self.
• To make rounds with doctors.
• To carry out the required pre-operative and post-operative nursing procedures
• To assist as a scrub nurse in providing instruments, swabs, and sutures to the Operating Surgeons as and when required
• To maintain the aseptic technique in the theatre throughout the procedure replenish swabs, needles, etc. as requested, and chart the accurate count of swabs/mops.
• To assist in the safe transfer of the patient from the table to the recovery ward.
• To ensure all professional/clinical practices are in line with Policies and ISIC Standards.
• To receive linen and OT instruments from CSSD and return linen and CSSD items for autoclaving after surgery.
• To ensure that the theater is cleaned and prepared for the next operation.
• To ensure the daily management of the theater.
• To ensure adequate discipline and minimum disturbance within the theater.
• Any other job assigned by the appropriate higher authority.
