Job Description
- Conducting field hydrological studies within the IIHS campus and at other project sites;
- Assisting in required GIS analysis;
- Providing support in the execution of field experiments, monitoring and data analysis;
- Assisting in sampling aquatic habitats in and around Bengaluru;
- Contributing to other projects on environmental monitoring within the IIHS Kengeri campus and elsewhere;
- Providing support to other IIHS activities including academics, research, training, practice, operations and others;
- Participating in all activities of Institution-Building at IIHS; carrying out tasks as assigned by IIHS; and traveling on IIHS work within or outside the country as and when needed.
- B Tech in Civil/ Environmental Engineering with an aptitude for field studies and a willingness to conduct fieldwork in urban/ peri urban water bodies;
- M Tech in Water Resources/ Hydrology/ Environmental or similar fields with relevant field experience in thesis/ project would be an added advantage;
- At least a year of relevant work experience, including some experience in the use of GIS;
- Experience in field hydrological methods and working with field instrumentation for hydrology along with automated data collection systems would be an added advantage;
- Proficiency in MS office;
- Strong organizational, communication and planning skills; effective team working skills;
- A basic understanding of experimental study design and data analysis methods would be an added advantage.
