The Technical Program Manager's main goal is to ensure effective communication between client stakeholders and Incubyte's offshore engineering team.
This role requires both project management and technical insight, allowing the Program Manager to understand and help resolve technical roadblocks while driving smooth project delivery.
The Program Manager will foster collaboration across functions, promote a DevOps mindset, and ensure engineers are never siloed in their work.
What You'll be Doing:
- Understand Technical Blockers by working closely with developers to understand technical issues that arise during projects, proactively removing roadblocks by coordinating with client stakeholders or providing alternative solutions.
- Bridge Communication by acting as the main point of contact between client stakeholders and offshore engineers, ensuring that technical challenges are communicated clearly and resolved in a timely manner.
- Facilitate Cross-functional Collaboration by promoting a culture of collaboration by working closely with developers, QA, and operations teams, ensuring smooth communication and knowledge sharing across functions.
Help the team avoid silos by organizing regular syncs between different functions.
- Adopt DevOps Practices by encouraging a DevOps mindset by facilitating automation, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
Ensure that projects adhere to the DevOps principles of shared responsibility, transparency, and continuous improvement.
- Align Development with Business Goals by ensuring that developers understand the business goals and client priorities so that technical decisions are made with these in mind.
- Drive Continuous Feedback Loops between developers, testers, and clients to ensure iterative progress, preventing delays and enhancing product quality.
- Identify and Address Barriers faced by offshore engineers, ensuring they have everything they need to succeed.
- Foster Ownership in the team by encouraging transparency and responsibility for project deliverables, ensuring that every member is engaged and understands their role in the overall success.
Skills you need in order to succeed in this role
Must Have :
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in project management or a technical leadership role in software development, preferably within cross-functional and remote teams.
- Proven experience in fostering collaboration between development, QA, and operations teams, with a strong DevOps mindset.
- Experience managing client relationships and driving the alignment of technical solutions with business objectives.
- Technical Understanding: Ability to understand the technical challenges engineers face and effectively translate these into actionable solutions, ensuring that technical and business priorities remain aligned.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Proven ability to foster collaboration across multiple disciplines (development, QA, DevOps) and drive a one-team mindset that promotes knowledge sharing and avoids silos.
- Problem-solving: A proactive approach to identifying and resolving both technical and logistical issues, ensuring continuous progress on all project fronts.
- Client-facing Communication: Strong communication skills to bridge the gap between technical details and client expectations, ensuring transparency and trust.
- DevOps Mindset: Strong commitment to DevOps practices, including automation, CI/CD, and shared ownership, driving better software delivery practices and outcomes.
- Software Craftsmanship: Deep understanding and commitment to software craftsmanship principles, including Test-Driven Development (TDD), Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), CI/CD, and clean code practices, ensuring high-quality, maintainable, and scalable software solutions.
