Role : Compliance Manager

Location : Mumbai (Andheri - Marol)

Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Compliance Manager with a strong background in fintech, Lending , Insurance to oversee and manage compliance activities within the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, financial products, and the compliance challenges faced by fintech companies. The ideal candidate will have at least 5-7 + years of core compliance experience, a fintech background, and a diploma in compliance or a degree in labor compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Regulatory Compliance Management:

• Develop, implement, and maintain the companys compliance program in alignment with relevant fintech regulations and industry standards.
• Monitor and stay updated on evolving local and international regulatory requirements that affect the fintech industry.
• Ensure the organizations policies and procedures comply with applicable regulations, including data protection, anti-money laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), and consumer protection laws.

2. Risk Assessment & Mitigation:

• Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential compliance gaps and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Establish and manage controls to mitigate risks associated with business operations, particularly in areas such as customer onboarding, payment processing, and product development.
• Advise senior leadership on regulatory risks, opportunities, and compliance-related concerns.

3. Compliance Reporting & Documentation:

• Prepare and submit compliance reports, regulatory filings, and audit documentation to relevant authorities.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance activities, reports, and audit trails.
• Ensure internal and external audits are conducted efficiently, addressing any findings and recommendations.

4. Training & Awareness:

• Develop and deliver compliance training programs to employees across departments to ensure awareness and adherence to compliance policies.
• Promote a culture of compliance within the organization through communication, awareness initiatives, and training sessions.

5. Compliance Monitoring & Enforcement:

• Monitor compliance performance across business units and ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
• Lead investigations into potential compliance violations, ensuring corrective actions are taken promptly and effectively.

6. Collaboration & Advisory:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including legal, risk, operations, and product development, to ensure compliance is embedded in all business functions.
• Provide regulatory guidance to senior management and other stakeholders on new product launches, operational processes, and strategic initiatives.

7. Vendor & Third-Party Compliance:

• Oversee and assess the compliance of third-party vendors and partners, ensuring they meet regulatory standards and company policies.
• Perform due diligence on potential business partners to assess compliance risks and ensure alignment with company values.

8. Labor Compliance (if applicable):

• Monitor and ensure compliance with labor laws, employee rights, and workplace regulations as they pertain to company operations.
• Collaborate with HR to ensure labor-related policies and employee agreements are aligned with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of core compliance experience, with at least 3+ years in a fintech environment. Strong familiarity with fintech regulations, financial products, and industry-specific compliance challenges is essential.
• Education: A diploma in compliance or a degree in labor compliance, or equivalent legal qualifications.
• Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, AML/KYC policies, data privacy, and consumer protection laws.

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into actionable policies and processes.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A graduate degree from a reputable university, along with a Diploma or Degree in Compliance, or an MBA (preferably with a focus on compliance or regulatory affairs).
• Proven experience working with Mumbai-based regulatory bodies and collaborating with external auditors.
• A strong background in legal or risk management, particularly within the fintech sector.
