Senior Technical Writer

Position Overview

As our Senior Technical Editor, you'll serve as an authority for documentation quality and editorial standards. While creating technical content is part of your role, your key focus will be developing and implementing editorial processes, mentoring other writers, and ensuring consistency across all technical communications. This position combines editorial leadership with technical expertise to elevate our documentation quality across all channels.

Core Responsibilities

Editorial Leadership (60%):

• Establish and maintain editorial standards, style guides, and documentation best practices
• Review and provide detailed feedback on documentation from product teams, developers, and other technical writers
• Mentor team members on writing best practices and documentation standards
• Lead documentation quality initiatives and conduct regular content audits
• Implement and manage peer review processes for all technical content

Content Creation (40%):

• Develop high-impact technical documentation, including API references, integration guides, and user manuals
• Create and maintain documentation templates and examples
• Write and update critical customer-facing documentation
• Manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously while maintaining quality standards

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, or related field
• 4+ years of experience in technical writing with at least 2 years in an editorial or review capacity
• Native or near-native English proficiency with exceptional editing and writing skills
• Proven experience establishing and maintaining style guides and editorial standards
• Strong background in reviewing and improving technical content from various sources
• Experience with API documentation and technical writing tools (Swagger, Redocly, Markdown, Git)
• Excellence in providing constructive feedback and mentoring other writers
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple review cycles while maintaining quality
• Experience working in an Agile development environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience serving as lead editor
• Background in loyalty programs, retail systems, or marketing technology
• Knowledge of structured authoring methodologies
• Experience with content strategy and information architecture
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and web technologies
